God, our heavenly Father,
We pray for the Orders of St John.
As we all come from the same root,
help us strengthen the ties among our Orders,
especially in times of distress.
Deepen our commitment to Christian chivalry,
Send your Holy Spirit into our work
of caring for the poor and sick as we would care for Christ himself.
Have mercy on us that we will be faithful to our vocation
which we have followed for over nine centuries.
Empower us to strengthen our common tradition
for the glory of God.
Inspire us every day to fulfil our common calling:
to devote ourselves to the service of humanity
and to the witness and defence of our faith.
This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ,
who shared our human life and suffering
and guides us in the path toward the kingdom of God.
