Johanniterorden i Sverige (Order of St. John in Sweden) is a spiritual Order of Chivalry with the motto „For the faith, for the service of mankind“.
The Order provides help to the most vulnerable, the sick and poor. Johanniterorden i Sverige manages a number of foundations and distributes their income in full amongst economically disadvantaged individuals and the sick – both in Sweden and abroad.
At the international level Johanniterorden i Sverige coordinates its work with the Orders of St. John in Germany, United Kingdom and The Netherlands and their subdivisions, as well as with the catholic Sovereign and Military Order of Malta.
Johanniterorden i Sverige is organized in four geographical regions within Sweden and has about 400 members Knights and Knights of Justice. HM King Carl XIV Gustaf is the High Protector of the Order and HM Queen Silvia the Order’s First Honorary Member.
